Aluminium Raised Panel Garage Door

A raised relief panel face on a sectional leaf, in a cooper-style design.

ALUMINIUM RAISED PANEL GARAGE DOOR

Depth across the face

The raised panel garage door carries a relief face on a sectional leaf. The panels stand proud of the frame, so the front holds depth rather than sitting flat, and the light across the leaf picks out shadow under each panel edge. That relief is what gives the door its presence on a rendered or masonry frontage, where a plain face would read as a blank. The face is laid out in a cooper-style panel design, and the leaf is built as a sectional door on the standard running gear.

The images on this page are catalogue design renderings. They show the relief and the panel rhythm; the section drawings carry the member sizes.

Relief and styling

Cooper-style panel design sets the face as a series of framed, raised sections. The relief runs across the whole leaf, so the door reads as a set of moulded panels rather than one sheet. That face separates this door from the flush range, which stays in one plane, and from the grille range, which opens the face with battens. The panel split follows the opening size, so a single-width and a double-width garage can both take the same relief layout without the framing losing its line.

Build and running gear

The leaf frame is 6063-T5 primary aluminium, run on the same in-house line as the window and door ranges, and it holds the strength and crack resistance the alloy is chosen for. Because the leaf is sectional, it runs on the standard sectional set and lifts to stow above the opening in the normal way. The face finish is confirmed with the project, so the raised panels can be matched to the tone of the facade, and the running gear is quoted against the opening rather than fixed in advance.

OEM and project supply

Raised panel doors follow the standard OEM terms: private-label packing, project documentation and export-standard containers. The leaf comes off our own extrusion and the relief is formed on our own line, so a bespoke panel layout can be quoted from a drawing. Send the opening size, the panel design you want and the destination market. The reply sets the panel split and the relief depth, so the face reads the same from end to end. A profile sample and a full size panel sample are available before the order is placed. The leaf is packed to protect the relief in transit. The panel split is kept on file, which lets a repeat order or a matching door on the same site carry the same relief and the same framing line.
