Retrofit and Replacement of Aluminium Windows and Doors
A renovation keeps the wall and replaces the opening. The job for the supplier is to make the new frame land in the existing rough opening, sit flush with the surrounding facade, and match the finish that is already on the building. Adam Alux supplies the frame, the sash and the glass build-up drawn against the opening, with the dimensional pack on the quotation so the installer can check the fit before anything is cut.
Drawn to the opening, not to a catalogue size
Retrofit work starts from the measurements the building already has. The opening dimensions, the frame depth the wall allows, and the position of the reveal are sent in, and the section is drawn against them. Profiles are extruded in-house in 6063-T5, so the frame depth, the sightline and the meeting stile can follow the opening instead of forcing the opening to follow a standard. The hardware layout returns with the dimensional pack, with the handle, lock and hinge points marked.
Matching the existing facade
A replacement sash in a painted building shows if the colour is off by one step. Finishes run anodised, thermal transfer and fluorocarbon, with RAL matching against a colour reference the project sends, and two-tone work where the outer and inner faces differ. A sample profile set is available before the order is placed, so the finish is checked against the existing facade at the job site, not on a screen.
The glass build-up for the renovation
The glazing line follows the wall and the climate. The standard insulating unit is 5 mm-20 A-5 mm, and single or triple glass fits the same bead, so the sash drawing does not change when the unit changes. Tempered glass is fitted as standard in the sliding sashes. The final build-up for the project is confirmed with the quotation, against the position on the facade and the destination market.
