Aluminium windows and doors for villas

A villa schedule mixes swing, slide and pivot on the same elevation, and the frames are expected to disappear into it. Narrow sight-lines matter more here than in volume housing, because the opening is part of the architecture and not only a hole with glass in it. Adam Alux builds those lines in 6063-T5 primary aluminium, extruded in-house.

What a villa specification asks for

Villa work tends to be specified room by room rather than floor by floor. The terrace wants a wide slider with a low threshold; the living room wants a light that is as close to frameless as the section allows; the entrance wants a single heavy leaf that reads as a piece of the facade. Hardware is chosen in the same pass as the door, because the handle is the one piece a visitor touches.

The finish takes two decisions, not one: the exterior face answers to the facade and the street, the interior face to the joinery and the floor. That is why two-tone is a normal request on this work rather than an exception.

Series that fit a villa opening schedule

The 35X16 minimalist sliding door is the terrace and living-room line: a minimal 35X16 frame section in 6063-T5, 45-degree mitered corner joints, a stainless-steel rail, and sash inserts in clear, frosted, reeded, fluted or tinted glass. It is drawn in six catalogue finishes including jazz black and jazz snow white.

The wide-frame casement door covers the swing openings: a hinged casement leaf on a wide frame, a double-glazed insulating unit, a heat-transfer surface with a fine texture, and a lever handle and lock set in silver. The M-24 off-axis pivot entrance is the leaf for a single grand entrance: a 3 mm aluminium alloy leaf on an off-axis pivot, sealed with an automobile-grade strip, with the performance indicators recorded in the catalogue across sound, water, air, wind and thermal.

Two-tone, anodised and RAL matching

Standard finishes across the range are anodised, thermal transfer and fluorocarbon, with RAL matching on request. Two-tone is available across exterior and interior faces, which lets a villa hold a dark facade colour outside and a pale interior reveal without a second order.

On the entrance lines the finish is confirmed against samples rather than a colour card, because the leaf faces are cast or carved and the light falls on them differently from a flat profile. Ask for a sample panel with the quotation.

What arrives before production starts

The quotation carries the dimensional pack: section drawings, leaf and light sizes, and the hardware layout per opening, in PDF with CAD on request. On request we also send a sample profile set and one finished test window or door, built to your glazing and colour choices.

That test unit is the point where a two-tone decision or a sight-line worry gets settled cheaply, before the order is released to the line.

What to send to start

Send the architectural elevations, an opening schedule with sizes, the glazing build-up for each elevation, the finish direction for exterior and interior faces, and the hardware or handle range you are working to.

If the villa has a pivot entrance or an oversized slider, mark those two openings on the schedule; they drive the section choice and are quoted separately from the standard lights.

FAQ

Frequently asked

How does an off-axis pivot entrance work in a villa facade?

An off-axis pivot leaf turns on a point set away from the frame edge, so the leaf sweeps wide and reads as a panel rather than a hinged door. The M-24 leaf is a 3 mm aluminium alloy profile on an automobile-grade seal strip, quoted as a single leaf with the smart entry functions you select.

Can the exterior and interior faces be different colours?

Yes. Two-tone is available across exterior and interior faces on the standard finishes, anodised, thermal transfer and fluorocarbon, with RAL matching on request. It is quoted as one order, so the pair of colours is tracked as a single item through production.

What glass can go into the sliding doors?

The 35X16 minimal slider is drawn with clear, frosted, reeded, fluted or tinted sash inserts, and with grille and decorative inlays. Door glazing is automotive-grade tempered glass as standard across the range. Exact build-up is confirmed per project.

Can we get a sample before we commit to a villa order?

Yes. A sample profile set and one finished test window or door are available on request, matched to your glazing and colour choices. For entrance leaves the finish sample is sent as a panel, because the cast and carved faces are judged by eye, not by a colour chip.

Do you supply the full villa package, windows and doors together?

Yes. Windows and doors come from the same extrusion base and the same finishing line, so the colours can be matched across the two ranges, and the quotation arrives as one schedule with a single dimensional pack covering both.
