Aluminium Windows and Doors for Egypt: Dry Heat, Project Volume

Cairo runs hot and dry for months, and the cooling load sits on the glass from morning until the shutters come down. Alexandria and the Red Sea coast add salt, while the canal corridor and the new administrative city carry dust on the wind. Adam Alux Systems has produced aluminium windows and doors since 1997 at three bases in China, and supplies Egyptian projects in volume from a single series list.

Cooling load in dry heat

Dry heat is easier on a seal than humidity and harder on the glass, because the sun arrives with little cloud in the way. A 5-20 A-5 insulating unit is standard across the window series and takes most of that load. Where the opening is large and the elevation exposed, the 112 series casement window runs a 2.0 mm wall through five chambers and keeps its inner line flush with the plaster.

Dust at the canal and the new city

Dust arrives with the wind and stays until something wipes it. Inside a window it works into the drainage channel and the sash gap, so the sill drains openly and the gasket is EPDM foam. A multi-point lock on casement leaves pulls the sash evenly onto that gasket, which keeps the fine fraction outside the room through a dust event.

Project volume from one series list

Egyptian work tends to arrive as a large residential or mixed-use schedule, with a handful of sizes repeated hundreds of times. The 50 series casement covers the standard openings, the 112 series takes the feature elevations, the 95 series sliding window covers balcony fronts, and the slider-35x48 brings eight catalogue colours including wood grain where a facade wants a warmer tone.

Alexandria, Port Said, Damietta

All three ports take FCL containers, and the shipping plan follows the project's phasing so frames and glass land in the order the site can install them. Every quotation carries a PDF dimension pack with CAD drawings on request, and packing can be private labelled for a developer or a distributor.

FAQ

Frequently asked

What certification is offered for Egypt?

Paperwork is limited to CE attestation under EN 14351-1, no. M.2024.206.C101817 from UDEM, and nothing further is claimed. Egyptian approval and local registration are not held, so the technical file is the drawing set plus the quotation.

Can the factory run a large repeated schedule?

That is the usual shape of an Egyptian order. Twenty-eight door series and seven window series come off the same extrusion lines, so a schedule with a few sizes repeated across hundreds of units is quoted as a production run, with the dimension pack fixing each size once.

Which glass keeps the cooling load down?

A 5-20 A-5 insulating unit, which is the standard build on the window series. Coated glass is available where an elevation takes direct afternoon sun, and the 112 series carries a wider cavity behind five chambers. The build is confirmed against the orientation at quotation.

How is the frame sealed against dust?

Three parts together: open self-cleaning drainage so particles leave with water, an EPDM foam gasket that compresses along the whole sash, and a multi-point lock that pulls the leaf onto it. On a sliding leaf the track clearance matters, and it is set for the project.

Which finish suits the coast?

Fluorocarbon, on elevations within reach of salt at Alexandria or the Red Sea. Inland, anodising is adequate and thermal transfer wood grain is available for a warmer facade. RAL matching and two-tone faces are quoted on request, and the choice is fixed with the order.
