Ornate Brass Door Handle for Aluminium and Wood Doors

Brass and bronze handles with carved motifs, for front entrances and wood doors.

ORNATE BRASS DOOR HANDLE

Carved motifs on brass and bronze

The brass family is the decorative line of the handle catalogue. Handles are made in brass and bronze and carry carved motifs on the face, so the pull acts as ornament as well as grip. The forms are drawn for front entrances and wood doors, where a plain bar would sit too quietly against a panelled or carved leaf.

Motifs are cut into the face rather than applied, so the pattern reads as part of the handle. The catalogue photographs show the carving close up, which is how a project can check the motif against the door face before it orders.

Key features

Four things it brings to the fit-up

01Carved facesThe motif is cut into the face of the handle, so the pattern reads as part of the pull rather than as an applied trim.
02Three motif formsMeander, cloud scroll and ring-knob forms cover a repeating line, a flowing pattern and a ring detail.
03Drawn for entrancesThe forms are positioned for front entrances and wood doors, where the handle is both a grip and an ornament.
04Model number fixes the motifEach catalogue model carries its motif and its size, so the schedule and the door face are decided together.

Motif forms

Three motif forms are catalogued: meander, cloud scroll and ring-knob forms. The meander runs a repeating line along the face; the cloud scroll carries a rounded, flowing pattern; the ring-knob form wraps the grip around a ring detail. Each form is a face treatment on the same handle body, so the mounting stays consistent across the family.

Representative catalogue models sit in the JBM-86xx series, with JBM-8909 listed alongside them. The model number fixes the motif and the size of the pull. Because the face treatment sits on the same body, a project can move between motifs without a change to the mounting.

Front entrances and wood doors

Brass handles are positioned for front entrances and wood doors. On a timber leaf the tone of brass or bronze sits with the grain, and the carved face adds a detail that answers a panelled door. On an entrance the handle is the first part a visitor touches, so the grip is shaped to be held as well as seen.

Because the family is decorative, it is usually chosen once for the main entrance and repeated on the interior doors that are visible from it, so the motif carries through the ground floor in one line. The same motif is repeated on the interior doors of that floor, which keeps the entrance and the doors behind it on one decorative line.

Ordering and packing

Brass handles are quoted by model and quantity and are shipped as catalogue hardware with the rest of the order. Locks, hinges and door closers are specified separately per project, as with the other handle families. Adam Alux extrudes its aluminium in-house from 6063-T5 primary aluminium and supplies the catalogue under OEM and ODM terms with private-label packing.

Send the door type, the motif form and the model numbers, and the quotation returns with quantities, finish detail and packing. Samples of the face carving are available on request. A carve sample shows the motif at full size, so the pattern can be checked against the door face before the order is packed.
