Aluminium Windows and Doors for Tanzania: Coast, Islands, Highlands

A resort on the Zanzibar coast replaces its door hardware long before a lodge in Arusha does, because salt and humidity reach it first. Dar es Salaam sits in the same air, and the highlands inland run mild and dry. Adam Alux Systems has produced aluminium windows and doors since 1997 at three bases in China, across 35 series, and quotes Tanzanian work by the climate it will sit in.

Dar es Salaam: heat, humidity, salt

The city runs hot and humid with salt in the air off the harbour, and a window closed for air-conditioning collects condensation on the room side through the wet months. Insulating glass in 5-20 A-5 is the standard build, and the frame sits on EPDM foam gaskets with open drainage so water leaves the sill. Stainless steel track keeps a sliding leaf moving when the air is heaviest.

Zanzibar and resort work

Island projects put a premium on how a window looks in five years, because a resort cannot close a wing for a repaint. Fluorocarbon holds colour and edge coverage in that air, and it is quoted with stainless hardware throughout. Frosted and reeded glass give privacy to a bathroom or a beach-facing room, and grille bars or decorative inserts carry one design through a whole property.

Arusha and the northern highlands

Inland air at altitude runs cooler and drier, and the specification relaxes. Single glass on a sheltered elevation is comfortable, and the 50 series casement window keeps its 50 mm frame, a 1.2 mm wall and a screen. Insulating glass stays available where a lodge wants quiet or an elevation takes the afternoon sun.

One port, one container plan

Dar es Salaam handles the containers, including island work that transfers onward. Packing is agreed at order stage, cartons are marked for the final site, and glass can travel in separate crates so a resort can glaze as each building closes up. Every quotation carries a PDF dimension pack with CAD drawings on request.

FAQ

Frequently asked

What certification can Tanzania rely on?

The single certificate held is CE attestation to EN 14351-1, no. M.2024.206.C101817, issued by UDEM. Tanzanian approval is not held, so the frame, glass and finish are agreed on the drawings and then confirmed in the quotation.

Which series fits a coastal apartment or a lodge?

The 50 series casement covers most rooms, and the 110 series with five chambers takes the wider openings on a sea-facing wall. Balconies and verandas take the 35x16 slim sliding door, while long dining-room fronts take the 95 series sliding window on ball-bearing rollers.

Single or insulating glass on the coast?

Insulating, in any room that is closed and cooled. The humidity and the salt haze make an open window unpleasant for part of the year, so the unit does the work. 5-20 A-5 is standard, with single glass reserved for sheltered service areas and highland buildings.

How is the finish held on an island project?

Fluorocarbon on the frame, stainless steel on tracks and rollers, EPDM foam gaskets at every leaf, and open drainage under the sill. A multi-point lock on casement leaves keeps the sash tight against the gasket, which matters on an elevation that takes wind off the water.

Can a resort order arrive in phases?

Yes. The schedule is split by building or by floor, and each release ships as its own FCL container with cartons marked for that block. A sample profile and a finished test window can be sent before the first release, and lead times are confirmed with the quotation.
