Aluminium Windows and Doors for Singapore: Wind, Height, Entry

On a thirty-storey tower the window schedule starts with wind and works back to the glass, because a tall facade takes pressure that a low-rise unit never sees. Sun on the glass runs most of the day on top of that. Adam Alux Systems has produced aluminium windows and doors since 1997 at three bases in China, across 35 series, and supplies Singapore projects through consultants who check both figures.

Wind pressure on a tall facade

Height decides the frame. The 112 series casement window runs a 2.0 mm wall through five chambers with a flush inner line, and the 118 series casement window adds a sixth chamber and a polyamide thermal break around 5-27 A-5 glass. Both were built for the tall single lights that a tower elevation asks for, where a thin residential profile would deflect and the sash would stop sealing.

Cooling load, all year

Singapore runs the air-conditioning every month, so the glass line carries a permanent load. Insulating glass is standard across the window series in 5-20 A-5, with single or triple builds on request, and the 118 flagship widens the cavity to 5-27 A-5. Clear, frosted, reeded and coated options let a bedroom and a living room take different glass in the same frame.

Entry doors for apartment units

Unit entries take the pivot door, an M-24 offset pivot leaf with a 42 dB catalogue value and six smart entry functions, which suits a corridor where the door has to close on its own weight line. The entrance series is the other route: an aircraft-grade aluminium plate face over a 1.0 mm steel core and a flame-retardant board, with a catalogue thermal rating of 8 and catalogue heat conduction reduced by more than 70 per cent.

Submittals before the first container

Consultant review comes before production on most Singapore jobs. Every quotation carries a PDF dimension pack, with CAD drawings on request, and a sample profile set or a finished test window can be supplied for the mock-up. Containers load to export standard with private-label packing, and OEM or ODM work follows the same route when the project carries its own brand.

FAQ

Frequently asked

What certification can a Singapore consultant review?

The file holds one document, a CE attestation to EN 14351-1 issued by UDEM as no. M.2024.206.C101817. Singapore product registration, site approval and any local test report are not held, so structural and glazing checks are run against the project drawings by the appointed engineer.

112 or 118 for a high-rise unit?

Both take a 2.0 mm wall. The 112 series gives five chambers with a flush inner line, which suits a clean plaster finish. The 118 series adds a sixth chamber, a polyamide thermal break and a 5-27 A-5 cavity, and it is the line most exposed corner units end up on.

Is triple glazing worth it in the tropics?

Rarely. The gain over a wide double unit is small when the outside temperature barely moves, and the weight works against the sash. A 5-27 A-5 unit on the 118 covers the load, and triple builds stay available on request where a client asks for them.

Which finish works on a sea-facing tower?

Fluorocarbon, on elevations that take spray from the strait. Anodising is fine on sheltered faces and inside the unit, and thermal transfer wood grain gives a timber look with a harder surface. RAL matching and two-tone faces are available on request.

How is a pivot entry door specified?

By leaf size, hand, and the functions the unit needs. The M-24 offset pivot carries a 42 dB catalogue value and six smart entry functions, with the hardware set chosen per project. The leaf, frame and threshold are detailed in the dimension pack that ships with the quotation.
